Total idiot here, but i tried updated the company's mySQL database from 4.2 to 5.2 just hours before I am supposed to leave on a week-long trip...

    http://vanasep.ca

i updated the database to 5 just fine, but my host said it wouldn't take effect until i changed the db_host from 'localhost' to 'mysql1.ehosting.ca'

so i changed the wp-config file... and naturally i lost the connection to the database. i tried switching it back but it sounds like my host reserves 'localhost' for mySQL 4 and a mySQL 5 database won't work on it? once changed there seems to be no going back.

opened phpMyAdmin and looked at the options table to see if the url was in there like some other discussions suggested. the url is in there. repaired all tables. don't see anywhere to change the db-host besides in the wp-config file.

    hhhhelp!
