    This is a fresh install of wordpress on a new domain and we are getting the error:

    Error establishing a database connection
    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    •Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    •Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
    •Are you sure that the database server is running?
    If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

    I have edited the wp-config.php and everything is how it should be. I’m not sure why we are stuck here.

  • create a database from cpanel (yourwebsite.com:2082) then try installing
    Wordpress again providing correct details(yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/install.php)..

    If there is an existing database you using. Correct details on:
    wp-config.php file.

    Location of wp-config.php:

    * yourwebsite.com/cpanel then login
    * File manager>>
    * public_html

    Check your database details with your hosts.

    everything is fine with my hosts. I had been editing the file in Crimson Editor, but when I edited the file through my cpanel, it wasn’t showing up with the edits, so I edited it through there and it worked, Shekhar you are a genius!
