I got this error when going to my address.com/blog

    Error establishing a database connection

    Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, cgiadmin@yourhostingaccount.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

I called my hosting service and they said there is a setting wrong with WP that is not pointing to the database.
    Help??

    Check your wp-config.php file.

I searched for that file and can't seem to locate it on the server with the search feature. What folder would it be in?

    Suggestions?

    Thanks.

The same folder that you installed WordPress into.

No - you would have a very different error if that file was removed. Perhaps it's outside your domain root folder? Some 1-click installs may do this. Try asking your hosts for assistance.

    Try removing the .htaccess file

@klevismiho: what on earth would that have to do with a database connection issue?

esmi, not with the database connection, but with the "Internal Server Error" it could.

I think I have the problem solved. I erased everything and reinstalled everything and just going to start over again.

Best I can figure is installed a plugin that crashed it.

Agreed - if that was the only issue. But if the wp-config.php file is damaged (as the database issue might suggest), then that could also cause a 500 error.

That would cause the database connection to fail. If the wp-config.php file wasn't damaged, then the next possibility would have been that your hosts were experiencing their own server problems.
