I just logged onto my domain today and I got a WordPress message:

    Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host's database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

I have no idea what is going on, because this morning everything was fine. When I log onto other pages of my site that aren't created through WordPress, I can view them just fine. I didn't change anything on my WordPress account, so why am I having this problem?

    Somebody please help :S

Might check with your host to make sure your database server is working.

Yeah, I've sent in a help ticket.

Do you think it's the database that's the problem? The rest of my site isn't uploaded via WordPress, so I can view that just fine. It's just the index page that has the error.

WordPress uses a MySQL database to store your post/bookmarks/comments/etc. so if the database is down your WordPress will not work.

Yeah, it was my server; my host was changing the database or whatnot.

    Anyhow, it's working now.

    Thanks for your help!
