    hi,
    a friend of me installed me a wordpress for my study abroad diary, well I love it! now I wanna try to install wordpress on my webpage, because it's so easy to handle. however, I have some problems.
    error establisting a database connection, look at
    http://www.smashig.com

    I don't know why it doesn't work, I created a new database and changed the config file,
    if someone can help me, maybe you can write a email>

    Did you also assign a user to the database after you created it? Double check the db name and password also.

    there was no need to create a user, I had already one. but I use phpMyAdmin 2.5.3, could this be a problem?

    You have to associate the user with the database.

    how do I make this? is it not automatically if I create a database?

    No, it isn't automatic. You have to link the database and the user. See "The Really Important Bit" here:

    sorry, whats c panel? i just have the surface of my php admin and a option to use my sql... how do I get this application?

    Sorry, I made a bad assumption. Most people (I think) have CPanel as their hosting interface.

    Do you have a different application when you first log into your hosting account? Maybe check the other options under Installation (the first section) and see if any of those look right. http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/

    unfortunatley i have no cpanelx, ensim, plesk or vDeck..., is there another possibility for the installation?
