    Hi there!

I’ve tried using this widget on this site, in the right-hand sidebar:
    http://binalongbay.com.au/

WordPress is up to date, ie. 3.5.1 as of the date of this post.

I’m posting in the example short code (from your site) just to get it working before I customise location and image, etc. Unfortunately I can’t seem to get past this error:

Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: http:// wrapper is disabled in the server configuration by allow_url_fopen=0 in /nfs/c03/h04/mnt/52684/domains/binalongbay.com.au/html/wp-content/plugins/awesome-weather/awesome-weather.php on line 81

Is this something you’ve seen before, or can help with?

    Regards.

The PHP function I am using to get the weather information has been disabled by your hosting company. Other users have had this problem, so I’ll need to come up with a better solution to handle this. I can’t give you a definite time when this will get fixed.

    Sorry,
    Hal

    Hal,
What is the PHP function, perhaps I can talk to my hosting company. Is there a reason hosting companies are disabling this function? Is it some kind of security risk?

    Regards.

    The php Function is allow_url_fopen
    Should be on
When the allow_url_fopen is enabled on a server , it creates a security risk for all domains hosted on that server.

I just pushed through an update that may help. It uses wordpress functions to gather the weather data. @alittlereddress Please give it a try and let me know if it fixes your problem.

    Thanks.

    Dear Hal Gatewood
The php Function is allow_url_fopen off
    The Widget work!
    Thanks!!
