I am unable to create new galleries or upload new photos. When I try, I get the following error message:

Directory wp-content/gallery/ is not writeable ! Check this link, if you didn't know how to set the permission : http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions

I have checked permissions and they are all 755

I am using version 2.0.40 of NexGEN.

    Any ideas to try?

@donbenot - If the /gallery/ folder is set to 0755 and all of its sub-folders are inheriting that permission set correctly then there should not be any issues ... have you checked with your web host to ensure what you are seeing is actually correct?

I have not, but I am able to change permissions and add and delete files/folders using an ftp client. If I add a folder and files using ftp, Gallery will be able to scan it but will be unable to make a thumbs directory.

@donbenot - This still reads like a permissions issue but if you would like to submit a Bug Report (http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ ... please reference this topic) we can look under the page and see if there is anything else going on.

We will need log in and FTP credentials for your WordPress installation as well, please include those with the Bug Report, too.

    Thanks!

    - Cais.
