Error connecting to Database after backup buddy restore (2 posts)

    I recently lost my web site when someone accidentally killed a virtual machine that was hosting my web site. Luckily I had backupbuddy and uploaded it to S2.

    I have verified many times that I have the correct information for the wp-config.php file. I can even log into MySQL with the account I specify in the wp-config.php and I can see all of the data with that account.

    I have commented out the IPV6 localhost entry and I can ping localhost successfully. I have also tried replacing the entry with the loop back address (127.0.0.1) but it will never connect to the data base.

    I can see all of my data in the database, so I now that it is there. I have even changed the wp-config.php to use root with the correct credentials but it also gives the same error.

    I have browsed all over these forums and IIS, plus Google/Bing... no luck.

    Is there any other way WordPress would connect to the MYSQL database? Is there another file or setting?

    [No bumping, thank you.]

    This solved my issue... http://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-establishing-a-database-connection-171

    My Database did not have the correct SITE URL in the following wp_options table:

    UPDATE YOUR DATABASE NAME.wp_options SET option_value = 'http://YOURURL' WHERE wp_options.option_id =2 LIMIT 1 ;
