I had to deactivate the Facebook connection because I changed my FB password. When I try to connect, it gives me the error. I’ve read through the support forum and deactivated all my plugins and changed the theme to no avail. I checked the wp-config.php file and there are no extra spaces that I can see.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Your host is blocking connections to the xmlrpc.php file on your site (we get a 406 error when we try to reach the file). Can you ask them to check that connections from *.wordpress.com are allowed? Who is your host, by the way?

That’s weird. It was working just fine before and now it’s not. Not sure what happened between then and now. I did change my theme, but when I changed it to something else, it still didn’t work.

My host is Purenrg. I’ll check it out with them and see what they say.

    I just went here:

    http://michellemiles.net/xmlrpc.php

and this is what I get:
XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.

Looks like there is one line of space before that.

Well it’s working now. I’m not sure what the problem was but I did a fresh install of WP. Then deactivated all plugins, activated Jetpack, logged back into WP.Com and THEN it worked. 🙂
