Error Adding Custom Author

    I would dearly love to use this plugin but I keep getting the error message “Error Adding Custom Author!”

    I have not yet been able to add a custom author.

    Is Custom About Author compatible with WP 3.5 or above?

    I have tried it on three different sites, with three different themes, and WP 3.5 or 3.5.1.

    Pluging is installed and activated. Then I have gone to Users > Custom Authors > Add New.

    I just want to check if it is known to work on WP 3.5 or above before I go deactivating all other plugins and changing themes.

    Hi vintagecove,

    Please update plugin to version 1.5.2 and see if that fixes the problem.

    Hi Edwin,
    Thanks for your reply. I have uploaded to version 1.5.3, but am still getting the same error message. I’m guessing it must be a conflict with another plugin. I’ll see if I can work out which one.

    I am having the same issue (using WP 3.5.1). Have tried to add a new user multiple times, only to get the “error adding custom author” message. I have uninstalled and re-installed the plugin to no avail. Any ideas?

    I’m using the latest WP version and I’ve instaled CAA 1.5.3, but I have the same issue.

    Don’t metter if it’s a real user or a Custom User, I can’t creat it.

    Maybe it is the couse why the plugin shows 3 time my own profile in a page where I use 3 differents user names?

    Hi Guys,

    I can’t seem to reproduce the problem on my end to determine a fix.

    Would anyone of you be willing for me to look into the problem on your site? You can either create a temporary user account for me so that I can log in and look at the problem, or I can give you a version of the plugin which will produce some database debug.

    I have the same issue, I can’t add a custom author. I use “Better WP Security” which changes the prefix of the database, can it be the source of the issue?

    What’s your email address? I can send you a copy of the plugin with some debug information for installation on your site so that we can determine the problem and put a fix for it.
