I'm been trying to use XML-RPC to allow a site user to make a new comment in my application using the method "wp.newComment"... I do not have any sort of "anonymous" commenting allowed, nor do I want to go that path...
I am able to make another call to the RPC service, wp.getUsersBlogs
and this works perfect, so I know that I have WP setup properly to receive requests, not that checking one checkbox is difficult anyways, lol.....
anyways if i pass a valid username/password combo in the above XML, i get back what I need, if it's not a valid combo, I get "Bad login/pass combination."... so far so good
So moving to the wp.newComment method, this is what I am posting, removing my username and password from public view of course
if i pass bad user/pass info, i once again get "Bad login/pass combination.", so excellent... WP is seeing my request to make a new comment and it tried to authenticate....
So if i pass good user/pass info, i get hammered with the ultra generic and ultra vague "connection error 500"
I'm at a total loss where to go from here.... in the second pastie above, the author, author_url and author_email are all empty, but i've tried with them all filled in as well, same 500 result
anyone have any pointers here? I cannot find one sample XML for this wp.newComment method anywhere on the Internet except for this post right here on this forum (http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/xml-rpc-anonymous-comments-wordpresscom), but his issue is completely different than mine.. besides, his XML posted there isn't right anyways as it is not wrapping the data in <param> nodes
Thanks in advance for any insight/help
