   A few pages on my site have text that looks like it's being linked to an image. It should be plain text. How I can track down where this errant hyperlink is?

   please post direct links to these pages;

   possibly an unclosed html link tag somewhere in your page content...

   or are you referring to the linked image (with the 'Connecting..' text) on the right in the header?

   this might be in header.php (?)
