• I am trying to duplicate this website in another industry. Is it possible to do this layout with WordPress?

I would like to have multiple sites all linked together, as the example link below.

If this will work, any suggestions on how to set this up, would be greatly appreciated 🙂

They can be linked with Multisite, but … possibly not the way you’re thinking.

If you want the CONTENT to be shared between the sites, that’s not the design of Multisite. Yes, it can be done, but it’s not straightforward.

I have been researching Multisite and just watched your video on YouTube..lol

I am not trying to share content. I am trying to help my sister who has a gym in CA that is branded towards women only and she now needs to start attracting men, to help her stay in business.

So I was researching if Multisite could duplicate the concept above. So she could have one site that had separate sites linked, that felt independent of each other (separating out the brands). Giving the feeling you are in a separate space and not one big site.

I was hoping it would work like the sample, so when you clicked on themeforest for example, it would go to themeforest.net vs mainsite.com/themeforest

I found this video on how to set it up,but it only gets the back end going. I need the next steps on adding additional sites.

Do you think this can be done? Any recommendations on getting help to get it set it up? I see you do offer some WordPress support 🙂

That’s kind of mapped domains, but … Wouldn’t it be better to just change the whole thing to be branded to people? That way women and men know about it?

Otherwise, yes, you can add a new site, use a different theme, change the content to be all men-oriented, and map a domain to it.

She loves her female only brand and it is very popular. Is there instructions on how to map domains? Do you offer this service?

To map a different domain on WordPress multi-site, you will need a dedicated IP address as well as the domain mapping plugin listed below.

I am not for hire. You can hire people at jobs.wordpress.net but we don’t allow that sort of thing on the free .org forums. Here you get advice and fixes.

@marc – Thank you, these links are very helpful.

Half-Elf Support Rogue & Mod – Thank you. Sorry I found your website and was inquiring if you worked in this area. New to the forums, still learning.

    – I have heard a few different opinions about sub-domains vs. sub-directories. What do you recommend for the example we are trying to duplicate?

    – Do we need dedicated IP’s to match our example website? I have heard yes and no.

    – Any hosting package recommendations? Very few offer more than one dedicated IP address. We will have very little traffic, just want to duplicate the sample website experience for cheap, until we grow.

Thank you for the support. We are new to WordPress and want to use it as our platform of choice 🙂

I do work in WordPress, I’m just not available for hire 🙂

    – Subdomains vs Subfolders are a personal prefernce. Neither is better than the other, though subfolders are often easier if you have no server experience.

    – No, you don’t need a dedicated IP unless you’re going to be doing SSL stuff.

    – I cannot recommend hosting packages here. No one can. Per the Forum welcome, we close all posts about hosting recs because they become argumentative and spammy. The WordPress team has provided a list of a few recommended hosting providers. For more details and other recommendations, please search through the forums or via Google (or your preferred search engine).
