Enumerating posts

I would like to enumerate posts (not using the post ID since it “skips”). I’m building a contest site where ppl upload content and it get’s published as a blog post and would like to be able to display them as “Entry 1”, “Entry 2” and so on.

I suspect this could be done with some sort of autoincreasment in PHP? I’m still a bit to green with PHP to figure out how though… 😉

Would greatly appreciate any pointers!
