Entry title display count (5 posts)

    Hi there!

    This my first post here, as in the past the WordPress Codex has been sufficient for me to solve my own problems. This issue, however, appears to come directly from WordPress rather than my custom-theme (seen at http://www.SlightlyRemarkable.com/ ), though I could be wrong (feel free to correct me — I’m by no means a WordPress power-user).

    My problem is that I want only the latest ten (10) blog entries to appear on the homepage of my blog. I set WordPress to do this in the admin -> options -> reading panel. However, when I go to view the archives for a specific month where there are more than a total of ten (10) blog entries in that month, I only see the last ten entries for that month. (Example.) What can I do to make all the blog entries appear for a specific month in the archives, but still only display ten entries on the homepage?

    Thanks!
    Jonathan

    Also you can use The Loop in your template for making this.

    Ex.:

    // Get the last 10 posts
    <?php query_posts('showposts=10'); ?>

    <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
    <!-- template config... -->
    <?php endwhile;?>

    By editing the 10 number, you can customize your post number. It's easy.
