Entering a partial URL will automatically redirect to full page (3 posts)

    Hi,

What I am trying to do is have certain pages hidden from the general public and search but still make them accessible to people if they type in the exact URL.

I have downloaded the disable search plug in and that works well, the only problem is that I've noticed if someone enters a partial URL in the browser, they will be automatically redirected to the full URL.

for example, if I have a page:
    http://www.myblog.com/1-2-3-4-5

    and someone enters the URL:
    http://www.myblog.com/1-2

Then they will automatically be redirected to http://www.myblog.com/1-2-3-4-5

This is undesirable as it will allow someone to guess URLs and be redirected to the page.
Is there anyway to disable this function?

Or if someone can suggest a better way for me to achieve what I'm trying to do that would be great.

I would prefer not to password protect the page, I just want pages accessible only if someone knows the exact URL.

thanks for your help in advance!

Just found a function in Trac that might be helpful. It worked for my situation!
