• The [dg] shortcode currently can be used to include documents attached to the page on which it appears, or it can be told, using the localpost=false option, to ignore attachment entirely. It would be lovely if we could include documents attached to other pages, perhaps with syntax like attachment_ids=94,23,98.

(If we want to get really fancy, we could also have the option to include documents from subpages of the specified pages.)

    Hi bkalish,

If I understand your request correctly, the functionality is already supported 🙂

Are you saying you want to include various arbitrary attachments based on their ID? If so, you would just do this: [dg ids=94,23,98]. If you’re meaning you want to be able to include the attachments on another page (based on that other page’s id), that has been mentioned before and I have done some thinking on it. Although it’s not implemented yet, it’s planned for when I rework all of the shortcode to match more closely with the core WP gallery shortcode.

Hope that helps and please let me know if I misunderstood anything you were asking.

Thanks, Dan. I meant the latter, i.e. to include the attachments on another page based on that other page’s id.

    Gotcha.

Yes, I totally agree that it’s a good idea. It is on the ever-growing todo list 🙂

    Thanks for suggesting this!
