Just a guess here but do your download files use non standard Latin characters e.g. characters with accents? The Download Monitor plugin escapes accented letters and this causes 404 errors. If you use accented letters, change them to non accented letters then test again.
Hello
On the old version of the plugin, this files work well.
I change the name of the file, used on the new version of the plugin ( to non accented letters), and work
So this new version of the plugin, have one issue…
Please make new the plugin, like the old version. Because all my files, used on http://lurdesvieira.com/downloads have accented letters. If i chage the old to new plugin, they dont work…
I’m glad you tested the old version for compatibility with accented letters; I didn’t do that test.
Hope the developer corrects this soon.
Can you let me know what version of PHP your server is running?
json_encode doesn’t cope well with special chars in versions < 5.4. If it’s possible to upgrade that, saving the problem downloads may fix this up. https://github.com/mikejolley/download-monitor/blob/master/includes/admin/class-dlm-admin-writepanels.php#L468
The old version of the plugin work, they don’t use json_encode ?
The old version of the plugin, and the new version are running in same server.
I will see if the host company upgrade the PHP version, and tell you…
But if they don’t upgade, you can change the new plugin to work ?
The old version used serialization instead of json_encode which had its own limitations.
I could possibly add a fallback but it would need testers. See if you can upgrade first.
The host company upgrade the PHP.
Now the plugin (new version) work with accented letters.
Thanks
