[resolved] Enable publishing to an author's Timeline clarification (4 posts)

The instructions that pop up when I enable the option to post to my (author's) Timeline differ a bit from what I see in the Open Graph section of my app, but I think I'm doing this right: I created a Publish action, and specified Article as the type.

First, is this correct? Second, why in new activity at my blog only appearing in the Activity section of my Timeline, and not as an actual story? Third, even though the activity is marked public, only I can see it. Do I need to submit my Open Graph Action? I did this just in case it's required, with instructions on how to create a post in my blog (I created a new account on my WP blog for this purpose).

I guess my main question is: How can I ensure that new blog posts appear in my Timeline as public stories? The instructions are hazy for us non-developers. Thanks!

I have the exact same problem; publishing a post is posted as an activity on my timeline, not a story. I've turned off social publishing for now because I can't figure out how to fix this problem. I've been copy-pasting my post URLs directly into a comment box to share as stories--the alternative is relegating my posts to the importance of what news story I liked today and what song I'm listening to right now.

I've followed all the instructions for setting up the plugin, but can't find any mention of what I might be doing wrong.

I was able to get this working on my personal Timeline, but only after I submitted the app for approval. It was approved within a day. Once that took place, blog posts were successfully being pushed to my timeline.

One thing I'm noticing is that the default behavior of these posts in Facebook is "allowed on Timeline" and not "shown on Timeline." For more visibility, I usually force the post to be shown.

we just released version 1.1 of the plugin including explicit sharing support for articles published to an author's timeline. Take another look, let us know what you think, and open another thread if you are still having issues after submitting your application.
