[resolved] Enable horizontal scrolling on wide table (8 posts)

    Hi Tobias,

Our site is responsive and we have tried unsuccessfully to get the tables to stay within the responsive theme. Our latest attempt was to try and enable the horizontal scrolling but we are having some trouble. An example is this page http://tinyurl.com/cn6muu2.

    Thanks,
    Ian

    Hi Ian,

yes, responsive tables are still problematic, and I haven't yet found the perfect solution. The horizontal scrolling is a good idea though!
Now, can you maybe explain what "some trouble" you are having with this? Also, it seems that the horizontal scrolling is not enabled for the table on your example page right now, is it?

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Tobias,

That is the trouble. We have enabled horizontal scrolling but it doesn't seem to be enabled on this table. If I could attach a screenshot I would show you our settings. Do you think I have a conflict with the style that is preventing it?

    Thanks,
    Ian

    Hi Ian,

ah, ok. Now I understand. Sorry about that.

I just checked the code for this, and as it seems, I forgot to rename one of the parameters in one place, that I had renamed in another.
I'll fix this in the next version, and I'll email you instructions later today on how to fix this on your site directly.

    Regards,
    Tobias

    Hi Ian,

some testing confirmed my assumption. I had forgotten to rename a parameter...

I now added that change to the current version 0.8-beta (without increasing the version numbers). Thus, people that now install 0.8-beta will not be affected by this.

To fix it on your site, please just re-install TablePress from a freshly downloaded ZIP file (or delete the plugin on your server and just re-install it via the "Plugins" menu. All tables and data will be kept during this manual update.)

Thanks again for finding and reporting this issue!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: After re-installing, please also clear your browser cache (or click "Shift+F5" (Windows) or "Shift+Cmd+R" (Mac) on any "Edit" screen of TablePress), to refresh the JavaScript code.
