Embedding links the G (or Facebook) kind of way?

Hey guys,

I’m wondering if anyone could point me to the right direction. What I’m looking for is a plugin or hack or whatever that allows me to turn a link (any link) in a post into a “preview” without much fuss. Basically the same when you post a url to G+ or Facebook and it comes back with a thumbnail, title, description, etc.

I checked Embedly, but I’m not using the admin interface much, so what would work best is something that does this automatically, or a shortcode, but nothing fancy. I’m lazy, to be frank, and again: I mostly post via the mobile WP app or e-mail.
