• Hello All,

Could I please ask what is the most simple way to post an embedded Youtube video into the “defalult” panel on right side of my .org wp site?

Here is an example site. How has the Youtube embed on the right side been achieved?

    http://qtpicnic.taliacjohnson.ca/

I tried to past the “share” / embedded code into a Text widget dragged to the right panel under either Default, 300X ads or 125X ads. it just shows up as a path name (link) rather than an embedded video.

I have watched several tutorial videos on youtube and also checked this link:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds

This information seems to be related to embedding a Youtube video in a new Post as opposed to the “Default” of the right panel.

There is also talk of a protocol site called oEmbed. Do I need to install a plug in called oEmbed to imbed a video into the right panel?

  • There is no “default panel on the right side” of a WordPress site. What theme are you using? Where did you download it from? what version of WordPress are you using?
Always include as much information as possible

I am using Theme Alley’s Thea theme. I am using everything that the link below is using.

When I refer to the Default I believe a more clear term would have been Sidebar.

    I arrived there by going:

    Appearance – Widgets

    the heading reads:

Drag widgets from here to a sidebar on the right to activate them. Drag widgets back here to deactivate them and delete their settings.

For example I can drag a Text widget or a Facebook widget to the Sidebar ( it is to the right and is basically a box that opens with a down arrow drop down.) The Sidebar has a bo titled Default. I can drop the widgets into this box and they work. It also has two other boxes 300X Ads and 150 x Ads.

The above blog/ website I reference has embedded a Youtube video into the Sidebar as opposed to into a page. that is what I am seeking help with doing.

    Thank you.
