embedded media not visible (2 posts)

    I have been having this problem forquite some time. Various embed codes, such as for Youtube, Vimeo, Trip Advisor, Accuweather, Google Calendar, while still present & intact in the text editor, are either not visible on the site, or appear as text links rather than images. If I delete the embed code, then re-insert it, the images will re-appear, but only for a short time, then they always vanish again.

    Check out http://www.paradisehanggliding.com

    The TripAdvisor image and Facebook Badge at the bottom of the page have both turned into text links, as well as the TripAdvisor image on the Reservations Page. Any ideas?

    Your site is throwing some errors on the home page, which you need to fix first to start working on this:
    "NetworkError: 404 Not Found - http://www.paradisehanggliding.com/wp-content/themes/ParadiseHG-07-08/bullet.jpg"
    and
    Error: Permission denied to access property 'toString'
    The latter is a javascript error, but I can't tell you more about it until you fix the 404 error for the missing image.

    If I load the Reservations page, I see some syntax errors that is messing up your Google Analytics code block:

    <script type="text/javascript"></p>
    <p> var _gaq = _gaq || [];
    _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-6471294-1']);
    _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);</p>
    <p> (function() {
    var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true;
    ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js';
    var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
    })();</p>
    <p></script></p>

    which should actually look like this:

    <script type="text/javascript">
    var _gaq = _gaq || [];
    _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-6471294-1']);
    _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);
    (function() {
    var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true;
    ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js';
    var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);
    })();
    </script>

    without all the paragraph tags. That makes me think you may have a plugin that is playing with your HTML. Maybe an editor plugin? That might explain the disappearing embed tags.

    Anyway, I would fix the missing JPG first, then we can get a clearer look at the javascript errors.

    By the way, I'm using Firebug, the debugging extension for Firefox, to see the errors.
