I'm currently having a problem with spam on the posts of a number of WordPress Sites that I have set-up for my clients.

Let me explain what I mean.
When I create a new WordPress site for a client I always set-up the admin email as admin@mydomain.tld (this is my own email account) When I have finished the project I then switch the email over to the clients email account. I have noticed over the different sites I created that I still get spam posts to my address even though its no longer set-up on the clients WordPress site.

Can anyone tell me why this is or what I can do to stop it.

    hi neweb,

You may want to use phpMyAdmin and query the database for instances of your email address. It may be stored in a table you are unfamiliar with. Querying the database for your email address will show you where your email address is listed after you change it. Then you can go into the table and edit the field, putting the clients email in.

Let me know if it works out for you!

    Thanks!

    Tim S.
