Emails not sending (9 posts)

    Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me with a problem I am having using Camptix Ticket plugin.

All seems to be well, but when I tried to email the attendees, the email said it was marked as "pending".
This was yesterday. Today it is still showing in the history list as 'pending' but it hasn't been sent. (Checked with one of the recipients).

I really need to notify all attendees as the event has been postponed, but cannot find a way to actually send the email!
Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to see the content of previously sent emails? Is this the expected behaviour?

Thanks in advance for any assitance you are able to offer!

Hi there. How many e-mail recipients are there in total? Are you sure WordPress Cron (scheduling engine) is working fine on your site? Did you ever have trouble with scheduled posts, pingbacks, etc?

It might be a good idea to enable debug mode in CampTix and take a look at what's inside Tickets → E-mails. You should be able to see scheduled e-mail jobs, how many e-mails were sent, etc. Add this to an active plugin file to enable debug mode:

    add_filter( 'camptix_debug', '__return_true' );

    Thanks!

    Hi Konstantin,

Many thanks for you very speedy reply!

There were only 6 recipients of the email, but a few test ones (single recipients) haven't gone through either.

Although I've created many sites using WP, I am not really familiar with CRON management as I've never had a reason before (to my knowledge) to mess about with it!

I've since noticed in the CampTix help file that ships with the plugin, it states:

Note that the e-mails will not be sent out straight away, but rather grouped into tasks, which are carried out using a cron schedule.

But they're still marked as pending after 2 days! The trouble is, I'm not sure how to change or check what my cron settings are? Or how to alter them to send emails from the Camptix module straight away?

I created a test user using my own email address, and received the standard 'username and password' & 'New user registration' emails into my inbox within seconds, which shows email from the site/server is working ok.

I also enabled debugging as you suggested and sent a test email from the Camptix Ticketing plugin, but couldn't see any debug output during the process?

I'm sure it must be something simple, but I'm just a bit surprised that no-one appears to be having the same issue?

If you have any other ideas for me i'd be very grateful.

I really appreciate your help with this!

When debugging is enabled, please go to Tickets → E-mails and send me a screenshot of what you see. Thanks!

    Hi Konstantin,

I'm very sorry for the delay in my reply, I have been very busy with all sorts of stuff. As the problem with the emails still remains, I thought I would send you a screenshot as suggested to see if you're able to offer any assistance.

Thanks in advance for any solutions you can find...

Not sure exactly of the best way to send a screenshot, but hopefully this will work...

Ok, if possible, can you setup a temporary admin account for me on your blog? I'd love to go inside and take a look.

    Thanks!

    Hi Konnstantin,

Many thanks for your speedy response!

I'm a little reluctant to provide admin access as the site is one which I have produced for a client and is currently live (which is why I need to sort the issue).

A number have people have signed up for an event and so there is confidential information on there as well as the normal admin stuff. (It's a site for christian singles).

Of course, I am NOT questioning your integrity or professionalism, it's more a case of client confidentiality.

I have admin access though, so is there something specific I can investigate for you?

Are you suspecting a conflict with another plugin?

I'm sure if emails were not being sent in general you'd have been swamped with queries by now, so I assume it's something peculiar to my set up, but I can't see anything obvious and don't believe I have done anything other than install the plugin?

Sorry to be a pain, but I'd like to get this sorted for my client and also as I would like to use this plugin on other sites I develop.

Don't mean to hassle you, Konstantin - but are you able to offer any more help with this issue? My client has another event coming up for which she may have to email all those who have signed up, so I'd like to be able to get it sorted.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

Hey there! As I said, it would be much easier for me to figure the issue out if I had access. If not, that's okay, but I don't think I can help much at this point. Perhaps you can try to setup a quick dev site with the exact same setup minus the confidential stuff and see if you can reproduce the issue there.

    Sorry I can't help more.
