Hi all
first things first i want to say i have no idea whatsoever about code or have ever set up a website....due to having a lot of time on my hands recently i deceided to to explore building my own website using wordpress.org and have got myself some cheap hosting and have installed wordpress via a 1 click installer and have been playing about trying to learn all the features
at the moment i have created a static home page and am looking to add a subscriber box where i can offer a free gift (ebook)
I havnt set up an email account for the site yet so i need to do everything from scratch
my vision is to have people subscribe and for me to provide a download link for the gift in the welcoming email
how do i set something like this up? where do i keep the file for the gift that im offering?
many thanks in advance for any help offered to someone who has no idea what he is doing! :)

Try installing the Jetpack plugin. It includes a contact form module.
