Is there a plugin available that sends an e-mail to the site admin when a contributor has submitted a post for review? I'm working on a site that will be soliciting entries/posts from the general public, but these posts must be reviewed by the editors before they go live. I know people can simply log in to the back end to see when posts are ready to be reviewed, but I need something that will actually prod the editors whenever a new post is submitted.

I haven't tried it, but wonder if any of the 'subscribe to' plugins could work for you?

It doesn't seem like the Subscribe2 plugin would quite do what I need it to do. When registered contributors create posts, they're not immediately published - they're held in "pending" status. I need something to tell the admins that a post is waiting for their approval.
I admit when I recommended WP to a client for their CMS, I thought this was a native WP feature. I'm really surprised to find out that it isn't.
