I just successfully installed WordPress and can log in with no problem as Admin. I wanted to test the email features, so I logged out and then at the login screen, I cliked the Forgot Password button. I received the message saying that it has been emailed, but I did not receive any emails. (It is not sitting in my spam folder, either.)
Are there some settings that I have to initialize to get this feature to work? I am hosting on Dreamhost.

Try talking to Dreamhost. Sometimes mail servers will reject an incoming message with the same domain as the recipient. i.e., your site sends a message to contact@mydomain.com and it's from submissions@mydomain.com.
Alternatively, you can use a service like postmark for transactional emails. They have a WordPress plugin too and the service is trivially cheap.

We go the other way :) We have issue when you're sending email from a non-mydomain.com account ;)
You can reset your password via wp-cli, though, if you're comfortable with shell.
You must log in to post.
