    Does anyone know if there is a way, either directly or via a plugin that will allow WordPress to send a confirmation email to someone after submitting a form?

    There is a plugin called Fast Secure Contact Form that has an autoresponse field associated with every form that you could use for that purpose. You can also customize the forms, add custom fields, etc., so they don’t have to be just contact forms.
