   When you type <b>foo</b> in the source editor, flip to the WYSIWYG editor and back, the B tags have been replaced with STRONG. Same with I and EM.

   In which line of which file of the WordPress source is the piece code responsible for that?

   Why? Both <b> and <i> are deprecated markup.

   esmi is asking why you want to know which code is responsible because both <b> and <i> are deprecated.

   Edit: Ok, it's not deprecated and is included in HTML 5 draft but that's the reason anyway.

   WordPress is using the correct markup. You're attempting to use incorrect markup.
