[resolved] Editor Tabs plugin JavaScript conflicts (9 posts)

I love your Editor Tabs plugin Ross, this UI enhancement should it should totally be included in the WordPress core.

But I have encountered a small issue with it. When I try to create or edit a form with the Gravity Forms plugin, the "AJAX" panels don't show up or are stuck.

I have noticed this same problem with the new menu editor in the beta of WordPress 3.0, the page links are supposed to be draggable, but are stuck.

By best guess is that you are loading a different version of JQuery or another library that these other features need too, and there is a conflict?

One other little bug I noticed with another of your plugins that I love, CMS Dashboard, is that the links have changed in 3.0 and will have to be updated.

Keep up the great work Ross!

I'm confident that this plugin causes the javascript conflict, which disables drag/drop functins and displays errors on every wp-admin pages.

When I disable this plugin, there're no more errors.

    The error always displayed is:

Error: element.dispatchEvent is not a function
    Source: http://example.com/wp-admin/load-scripts.php?c=1&load=sack,prototype,jquery,farbtastic,colorpicker,utils&ver=54bc27d9c473c6128ea015faff4daf5b
    Line: 3937

I agree this is something we need in the core, but just one little more improvement needed.

That's interesting Takuya, I haven't actually received an error before. I use Firefox, are you getting this error in a different browser?

Hopefully if this plugin catches on they will consider something similar in the core to cleanup all the stray panels that accumulate in the post and page editor!

I think you can confirm the error on every browser, IE, Firefox, Chrome. But on Firefox you'll need developer toolbar to see each javascript errors.

Ah, I didn't use WebDev or Firebug to actually check for an error. I just knew it wasn't playing nice with other bits of JavaScript!

Just published an update that improved the styling, fixed some behavior and resolved the JS conflicts with drag and drop. Check it out.
