Followed the tutorial video, did exact some stuff. Returned the aforementioned error instead of updating. FTP isn't connecting to my hostname (I'm NOT new to FTP), saying instead that the connection was refused. What's up?

You'll have to contact your hosting provider about your FTP connection trouble. As for the "file does not exist" error, what was the URL that you were trying to access?
