    Hello,

I have just upgraded to the latest version of WordPress but now the HTML editor doesn't work. All buttons, bar the media uploader icon, have disappeared. And I can't switch to the Visual editor at all.

    I have already tried to:

    - deactivate all plugins
    - change theme
    - delete cookies
    - check if visual editor is enabled (it is)

I don't really know what else to do bar trying to install wordpress manually but I haven't got the slightest idea of how to do that.

    Can anyone help please?

    Hi beautywithbrain,

I don't know if this will work for you but it's worth a try. I had this problem with the last upgrade.

I logged into my web hosting account. Checked under "security" for "Hotlink Protection" My host had it set to "enabled" by default. When I disabled it ..all of my cons reappeared.

Hotlinking by the way is just a way to keep others from using your bandwidth by "linking" to your images.
For some reason WordPress stopped rendering images with hotlink protection enabled. I knew icons were still there by hovering my mouse but could not see them.

Again I don't know that this is your issue or not but it certainly won't hurt to try.

    All the best

@d210tv: It is considered impolite to interrupt another poster's thread. Please post a new topic.

Secondly, please stop posting in uppercase. It's the electronic equivalent of shouting and is considered quite rude.
