"Editor" can't edit pages even when enabled

    I’ve created an Editor role, but when logging in to edit pages as an Editor, the only options I get are “Trash | View”.

    In User Role Editor, all these edit roles are on:

    Edit others pages
    Edit others posts
    Edit pages
    Edit posts
    Edit private pages
    Edit private posts
    Edit published pages
    Edit published posts

    I tried switching “Edit others php” on too but this made no difference.

    Can not repeat your experience. Role with 8 ‘edit_’ caps as above + ‘read’ capability to have access to the WP admin page allows user to edit posts according to my own tests. It’s strange that user sees ‘Trash’ without ‘delete_posts’ cap at the role. Check, if your test user has exactly needed role assigned.
