I just upgraded a few blogs yesterday to 2.8 using WordPress Automatic Upgrade (the included utility wasn't working).
We just found out today that all the blogs that were upgraded aren't working properly. When you type into the editor, text does not appear (but shows up when you highlight it). Also, the editor toolbar is not showing.
What can I do to fix this?
Try deactivating all plugins and check to see if this resolves the problem. If it does, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

Adding define( 'CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false ); to wp_config.php was the only thing that fixed it. Thanks.

I had this experience with one site. It has a proprietary plugin for membership which lags behind version changes so going to look at that because it is a key plugin.
