editing template to add AMAZON title (5 posts)

I've done my search, honest. I'm a novelist who writes fiction, not code, and I'm in way over my head on trying to understand posts about Amazon linking.

All I want to do is to add my novel's title on the sidebar (the wp default style), where the author info goes, for click-on purchase.

I've gotten as far as figuring out how to edit the sidebar template. But pasting the html link amazon gives me into the template code doesn't work. I've tried repeatedly.

I can only assume that in fact this doesn't work. The Amazon code has "iframe", and maybe that is incompatible. Am I right? So I can stop beating my head on this?

If so, I'll download and figure out how a plugin like amm 1.5 (found on this site) works. That documentation seems clear enough for a naif like me.

Thanks, but that links to the Amazon website as a whole. I want an icon of my book on the sidebar.

Amazon, through its associates program, gives me the html for an icon of my novel, and clicking on that icon leads directly to the information on that novel. (THE FLAME TREE).

That html, which I can't get to work, is (and I'm replacing the < with bracket)
    [iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=theflametree-20&o=1&p=8&l=as1&asins=0689863330&fc1=000000&=1&lc1=0000ff&bc1=000000&lt1=_blank&IS2=1&f=ifr&bg1=ffffff&f=ifr" style="width:120px;height:240px;" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0"][/iframe]

IFRAME will work with some themes. You might try a different theme, as the default is very complex and that may be interfering with your Amazon link.

You might also want to get the CG-Powerpack which includes the CG-Amazon plugin.
