Editing Search Results (CSS/Style)

I use WordPress 1.5, recently installed. I have been working on my own theme (not for public demand, I just need to nest my weblog in my existing layout). So far, it’s going well, but I’m having trouble with editing the CSS.

I finally got the comments section down thanks to scouring documentation, but I can’t find much on the search section. I’ve tried inserting and creating all sorts of CSS style code to edit it, but the search results style doesn’t change.

Can anyone point in the direction of some good documentation for editing search results?
