• I have a site that uses custom fields for posts. Users create the posts. Sometimes they have a need to go back and edit either the post content or one of the post custom fields.

And now for those of you who experience my pain…here goes the same problem you’ve all probably had….lol

I have tried all of the “front end editing” plugins out there and none of them really suit me well. There is always something missing from them such as…

    • They don’t properly edit custom fields
    • they’ll edit custom fields, but not when an image is used to display the value of the custom fields e.g. thumbnails, social icon markers, etc.
    • severely buggy ui’s
    • etc.

I’m using gravity forms to generate a post entry form which the users complete to create their post, but after that they either need wp experience to edit their post (which only 1 out of 100 have) or they are S.O.L.

Any thoughts at all on this? WordPress can do so much, it’s insane, but for some reason, I cannot find a reasonable way to accomplish this. I’ve tried plugins, custom scripts from forums and blogs….I even tried the following….

    • Prayed to Jesus
    • Prayed to Allah
    • Prayed to Jehova
    • Prayed to the greek gods
    • Prayed to the Nordic gods
    • Prayed to my dog
    • Wrote my congressman
    • Wrote to President Obama
    • Wrote to President Clinton (I know he’s not in office anymore, but anyone that can get caught fooling around in the white house and not lose his wife or presidency must have special powers
    • Called the Bat Phone
    • Used my Spidey Senses
    • Used Black Magic
    • Used Voodoo
    • Used Duct Tape (hey…shut up! Duct Tape is the super glue of tape
    • Tried using super glue

All in all, I’ve tried quite a few things…still no success. Any input would be awesome!
