Editing of posts strips URLS in Google Chrome (1 post)

When I use Google Chrome to edit posts, regular or drafts or pages, I have come across annoying and frankly disturbing behavior that I cannot link to one or the other; I am posting this to both. (I have also noted the behavior on LiveJournal and Google Mail.)

If I open a previously written document - a post, for example - with URLS linked in it, the URLs will disappear completely. I cannot do on-the-fly changes to pages, having to keep copies of everything around in case I need to edit it, which strikes me as a problematic situation for something that is considered a content management system. Right now this behavior is more of a content mismanagement system.

I am using Chrome 14.0.835.202, on Macs (an iMac and a MacBook Pro) running OSX 10.7; this happens on both my remote sites and my local dev server.

It does not happen in Firefox, but the fact it happens in Chrome is a problem.
