editing my sidebar ? (5 posts)

When I go to edit my sidebar, underneath the code it says, "If this file were writable you could edit it."

How can I get the file to be editable/writeable?

All I want to do is put some pics and maybe some widgets in the sidebar.

    Cheers,
    Diz

you need to change the permissions for the file "sidebar.php" on your server.

what do i change the permissions to?

    Currently the following are ticked:

    Read: (user, group, world)
    Write: (user, group, world)

    These are unticked:

    Execute: (user, group, world)

    Cheers,
    Diz

mine are at 777 - everything ticked. But 755 might work, as well.

Thanks so much ... it seems 755 does work (as well as 777).

    Much appreciated! :D
