Edited template, now pinging has stopped. What did I mess up? (4 posts)

I recently installed WP. I was initially having problems with posts not being indexed. Since I have version 2.3.2, I followed the advice in one of the official forums and replaced the xmlrpc file. I noticed that my blog posts started being indexed, but I don't know if it was a coincidence since around the same time, I had added more new posts.

Since then, I finished making my template which basically only utilizes the index.php file in the main directory of the install. For the rest of the site, I'm only using the template's index.php, sidebar.php, and single.php Those files only call minor stuff from the db, like the post's title, date, etc. Can you think of something that I may have removed from these files that's causing my posts to go unpinged? Thanks.

Define "unpinged". Are you talking about pingbacks from other blogs or what?

Thanks for your reply. I'm referring to the ping that wordpress sends to pingomatic, then gets the posts in google.

Ah... Okay, well, that pinging stuff relies on wp-cron working correctly. Is wp-cron.php there in your main WordPress folder?

Check all the settings on the Options screens too, there's a couple ways to turn off the pinging. The Privacy setting, the ping settings, etc.
