Edit theme width for sidebars and content (7 posts)

    I'm workking on a site using Genesis theme.

    I have sidebar-alt, content, sidebar for the home page.

    I want to have the sidebars 300px wide and the content 360. When I do this it shifts the sidebar on the right off the page.

    I can see all three at the moment, but I want the content to shift left, nearer to the sidebar.

    Do I need to edit a margin or padding somewhere in the theme file?

    Also, how do I get the top of the image to line up with the top of the sidebars?

    Thanks in advance for any help

    Edit style.css and remove margin-left: 10px; from:

    #content .page {
        margin-left: 10px;
        padding: 0 0 0;
    }

    Then try adding margin-left: -20px; to:

    #content {
        float: left;
        width: 320px;
    }

    Hi esmi

    Thanks for the quick response.

    That worked.

    Any idea how to move the top of the content in line with the sidebars?

    oops.

    Just spotted a problem with that.

    If I go to a page with full width content, eg posts, the text goes off the left hand side of the screen.

    help!

    Remove margin-left: -20px;.

    Yes, I removed that and it's OK again.

    However, there's still a big gap between the sidebar on the left and the content. Any idea how to reduce it?

    Thanks
