Edit shopping cart widget file

I am attempting to remove some parts of the shopping cart widget detail that appears when you add an item to cart. I know normally I would make a copy of the wpsc-cart_widget.php file (found in wpsc-theme folder) and edit that, but it’s not working.

I noticed there is a duplicate of this file which wp ecommerce is using to populate the shopping cart widget, it’s at wpsc-components>theme-engine-v1>templates>wpsc-cart_widget.php.

Why does WP ecommerce have two of these files? And how do I go about editing the shopping cart widget now?
