Update/clarification… I’m using FF on ubuntu, and the WP version is 2.6.1. Pages edit fine, when I try to edit a post, there is a <div> above where you select a category for your post (yet this div is still in the catrgory tab), and this div is filled with a mini-version of the current page, as though it’s an iframe loading itself…
I’m pulling my hair out… this one is hard to track down.
Thanks!
I’m not sure if nobody else has this problem, or if I’m just not describing/searching properly. Here are links to screenshots of
1) an image the post edit screen with the bug, immediately before it causes itself to reload, and then
2) the screen that loads itself (though it never completes loading). I tried reverting to wordpress 2.6, disabling plugins, re-upgrading, and the problem persists. Now, oddly, it occurs intermittently. I’m at a total loss, and would love to hear from others, even to know if it is a known bug or not…
Am having the exact same problem. I’ve disabled all plugins. This is a fresh WordPress 2.62 install. What the heck could be causing this?
its probably a hiccup with the revisions, disable them and see if that helps. the cause? I dont know.
Having same problem with 2.7 out of the box. Makes me worried about what other problems I’ll find.
How do I disable revisions?
same problem here with v2.7 as well! just updated from v2.6 and never had the problem before.
funnily, the problem only occurs sporadically. Yesterday everything worked fine again – today the problem resurfaced. It makes WordPress unusable for me! Please anyone with any idea how to resolve this?
I experienced exactly the same problem when using Firefox. So I tried using IE7, which worked like a charm. So I came to the conclusion that there was something with Firefox that was causing the bug.
After turning off all add-ons and turning them on one by one, I reached the conclusion that it was Firebug that was behind the bug. In more detail, it was when I had paused Firebug (right clicking the icon and pausing it) that the error would occur. If I disable it from the add-on preferences things seem to work, the same thing if I have it enabled completely.
Hope it helps you too. If not, I recommend you to turn off all add-ons and enable them one by one. That way you’ll (hopefully) find out what’s causing the bug for you.
