Edit Page Toolbar not visible on local host install

    I have been running wp 3.4.2 with no problem for several days on my local host (via mamp). Now the toolbar isn’t visible in HTML mode, I can’t get to Visual mode, and when I click on the media insert button, nothing happens.

    I was using a custom theme, went back to twenty-eleven, but it’s still not working.

    I then re-installed wp. Still not working.

    Any suggestions?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
