• I’m having difficulty with a site I’m working on. I’m using the Starkers naked WP theme. WP version 3.3.1

Once I upload an image to the media library and click on ‘edit image’, a broken link is displayed where the large image should be. There is still an image displayed in the thumbnail settings part on the right though.

I’ve already tried the following without fixing the problem:

    – Disabled all plugins (including renaming the folder through FTP)
    – Changed theme to Twenty Eleven
    – Cleared browser cache
    – Changed the file permissions on the uploads folder
    – re-uploaded wp-admin and wp-includes folders
    – Installed Hotfix plugin

    Problem still persists.

This only started happening a couple of days ago. It worked fine for a few weeks.

I’m mainly a front-end designer so I’m a bit of a novice in terms of WordPress & PHP development. I’ve read the support forum and tried all solutions I can find.

    Have I missed something?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

  • Check your uploads path in Settings->Media. It should be blank in most installs.

    @esmi

The path was ‘wp-content/uploads’ so I removed this and left it blank. (wp-content/uploads by default)

Still have a broken link once I click edit.

Can you post a link to a page using one of these broken images?

The site isn’t live yet (in maintenance mode as client hasn’t signed off on it yet)

I can insert an image from the media library into a page in any size I want, i.e, thumbnail, medium, large, full-size. The image shows up fine.

I’m having the same problem. May be the cache folder have to do with it?

I have a broken link on my home page. I installed the easy rotator widget and it is working great but there is also an easy rotator broken link right next to the working rotator. I looked in my rotator manager says there is only one rotator?? any thoughts on how to remove the broken link? cirosonsmith.com

When I erase the function.php’s page child theme, it works, and apparently no white lines between the <?php ?>. So I did try with a blank functions.php page and the problem was the very well know UTF-8!!! Once saved functiions.php page, as UTF8, everything was perfect 😉
