I hosted my wordpress.org blog via GoDaddy.

I would like to to into the admin section via cpanel or /wp-admin as it says on my tutorial, however doesn't work.

How can I edit my blog?

How do I point my registered Domain from GoDaddy to show URL name only?
Not extended URL with the word wordpress (too long)

    Hi

If I try the domainname/wp-admin, this is what I get:

The page you tried to access does not exist on this server. This page may not exist due to the following reasons:

    1. You are the owner of this web site and you have not uploaded (or incorrectly uploaded) your web site. For information on uploading your web site using FTP client software or web design software, click here for FTP Upload Information.

    2. The URL that you have entered in your browser is incorrect. Please re-enter the URL and try again.

    3. The Link that you clicked on incorrectly points to this page. Please contact the owner of this web site to inform them of this situation.

I am a fairly non-techie type and just would like to learn how to Blog, nice and simple.

Why must it be so complicated?

I also looked at the link:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

that seems a bit high tech for me - I would rather use Forwarding & Masking at goDaddy.

cPanel is a configuration for hosts that provide this as an option. GoDaddy doesn't use cPanel for user configuration. There are a few things to know about domains and hosts first, before setting up a blog.

Here's a video that may hopefully help you learn a little bit more about self hosting a WordPress blog as well as setting up a domain and host: http://www.internetriot.com/27/wordpressorg-fastest-way-to-create-a-blog-professional-looking-website/

If you're just getting into blogging you may consider starting with a WordPress.com blog.

    Hope this helps!
