ecommerce with membership plugin needed?

I need a shopping cart solution that also works with a membership plugin – I am trying to build a wine club type of site. Members pay a subscription each month or yearly and enjoy a discount on products.

I am amazed that my existing shopp ecommerce does not have this and I cannot find one that does … I thought this was almost a necessity for online ecommerce.
