Hi,
I've used the wp-ecommerce plugin before, but not for software packages. I added it as directed, uploaded the zip file.
Someone bought it, and it doesn't show on the dashboard panel, doesn't show anything sold, nor any money amount. Nor does it send the software to the buyer. Shouldn't it?
Is this a known problem with wp-ecommerce?

Like many, I am a little disappointed in this plugin's support.
jbbrwcky; (jabber wockey?) why do you seem so familiar??? Like most plugins (including WordPress itself) the plugin is free and we have free support forums. There are over 400 resolved threads in our forums though - so please don't be too quick to criticize ;)
Based on this thread I don't even know what you want. For a mere mortal to help you... well lets just say you need to provide us with more details :P
I was talking to Michael from All in One SEO and even he gets criticized for what often comes down user error. He also made the point that even Matt M himself gets criticized for either releasing WordPress Versions too quickly or not quickly enough. I have been observing the Next Gen Gallery threads and the same applies. It seems as though if you make something cool like WordPress, the All in One SEO plugin, WP e-Commerce, Next Gen Gallery... you are destined to be damned if you do and damned if you don't!!
Anyway. WP e-Commerce is our baby. We love it. We want to help. We always believe it is the putting right that counts. And providing people meet us half way we're even pretty flexible with providing free premium support (as long as it doesn't cut into our personal lives) :P

i don't know....his post seems to be clear enough to me (if a little frustrated)..... the problem that jbbrwcky is having is precisely the problem I'm having ... the paypal gateway seems to be working, customers can purchase a digital product ... they and I both recieve an email from paypal describing the transaction .... customer gets charged .. i get payed ... customer recieves no link to download product .... Perhaps the only difference I have in comparance to jbbrwcky is that i am an avowed and absolute newbie to the e-commerce plug-in and understand that there are most likely some mistakes i have made .... if you or anyone know of a posted thread to the resolution of this problem ... give me a heads up ...thanks
It could be a problem at paypal's end of which there isn't much that can be done.

yeah, i'm waiting to hear back from paypal via email on this ... i guess i'll have to put this fella on the backburner .... thanks for the reply

The culprit is the "Buy Now" option. For me it worked perfectly when enabling the "Add to cart" option.
Hope this helps others, because I am really liking the wp e-commerce program!

Hi folks, anyone found a resolution for this? I've built a cart which sells mp3's, and when we tested it (purchased a song, paid through paypal), we were charge but received no download link.
This is pretty crucial for a musician's site, so any help is really appreciated.
note @The Asom - we have add to cart enabled, darn it I was hoping it would be something that simple!

Yeah, the "buy now" option totally bypasses the shopping cart functionality and just sends the user to Paypal or Google Checkout.
If you will enable the "Add to Cart" option, then after going to Paypal the user will be redirected to your site and get the download link, given that:
1. Paypal notifies your site in a timely manner that payment is completed
2. You have a file associated with the product sold.
