ECommerce mail order food site – Where do I begin?

    Hi,

    I want to put together an ecommerce site using WordPress to sell food stuff online. Hopefully someone can give me some guidance so that I go in the right direction first off without a comedy of errors.

    I see that there are lots of ‘ecommerce’ themes and I am wondering whether these are a better option than just adding a shopping plugin to a normal theme?

    The site that I want to put in place needs to have product variations. I see that the WP-Ecommerce plugin does that but it appears that not all shopping carts do. Would I be correct in thinking this?

    The ecommerce themes seem all to be ‘paid for’. Whilst I have no issue paying for a theme, I obviously want to try get the right one first time. If anyone has any recommendations them I would be glad to hear of them.
